PADA menjalankan kuasa yang diberikan oleh seksyen 66 Akta Pengangkutan Jalan 1987 [Akta 333], Menteri, selepas berunding dengan Ketua Inspektor Timbang dan Sukat, membuat kaedah-kaedah yang berikut: Nama dan permulaan kuat kuasa 1.

(1) Kaedah-kaedah ini bolehlah dinamakan Kaedah-Kaedah Kenderaan Motor (Timbang) (Pindaan) 2026.

(2) Kaedah-Kaedah ini mula berkuat kuasa pada 15 Februari 2026. Pindaan kaedah 2 2. Kaedah-Kaedah Kenderaan Motor (Timbang) 1990 [P.U. (A) 466/1990], yang disebut “Kaedah-Kaedah ibu” dalam Kaedah-Kaedah ini, dipinda dalam kaedah 2, dengan menggantikan takrif “sistem penimbang semasa bergerak elektronik atau berkomputer” dengan takrif yang berikut: ‘“sistem penimbang semasa bergerak elektronik atau berkomputer” ertinya suatu alat timbang atau sukat elektronik atau berkomputer yang digunakan untuk menimbang, mengenal pasti dan merekodkan berat dengan muatan suatu kenderaan motor semasa kenderaan motor itu sedang bergerak di atas jalan;’. (a) dengan menggantikan subkaedah (1) dengan subkaedah yang berikut: “(1) Tititimbang, mesin penimbang gandar statik, mesin penimbang gandar semasa bergerak, mesin penimbang roda statik atau P.U. (A) 83 3 sistem penimbang semasa bergerak elektronik atau berkomputer hendaklah telah menjalani ujian kejituan dan penentusahan oleh seorang Inspektor Timbang dan Sukat, yang hendaklah mengeluarkan, berkenaan dengan tititimbang, mesin atau sistem yang didapati adalah jitu itu, suatu sijil kejituan.”; dan

(b) dengan menggantikan subkaedah (6) dengan subkaedah yang berikut: “(6) Ujian kejituan dan penentusahan suatu sistem penimbang semasa bergerak elektronik atau berkomputer hendaklah dijalankan mengikut prosedur yang ditetapkan dalam Jadual Kesepuluh.”. Penggantian Jadual Kesepuluh 4. Kaedah-Kaedah ibu dipinda dengan menggantikan Jadual Kesepuluh dengan jadual yang berikut: “JADUAL KESEPULUH [Subkaedah 9(6)] UJIAN KEJITUAN DAN PENENTUSAHAN SISTEM PENIMBANG SEMASA BERGERAK ELEKTRONIK ATAU BERKOMPUTER Suatu sistem penimbang semasa bergerak elektronik atau berkomputer hendaklah diuji mengikut prosedur yang berikut:

1. Suatu sistem penimbang semasa bergerak elektronik atau berkomputer hendaklah diuji mengikut cara sebagaimana yang boleh ditentukan oleh Penyimpan Timbang dan Sukat.

2. Suatu sistem penimbang semasa bergerak elektronik atau berkomputer adalah disifatkan sebagai jitu jika keputusan ujian adalah di dalam ralat maksimum yang dibenarkan oleh Penyimpan Timbang dan Sukat.”. IN exercise of the powers conferred by section 66 of the Road Transport Act 1987 [Act 333], the Minister, after consultation with the Chief Inspector of Weights and Measures, makes the following rules: Citation and commencement 1.

(1) These rules may be cited as the Motor Vehicles (Weighing) (Amendment) Rules 2026.

(2) These Rules come into operation on 15 February 2026. Amendment of rule 2 2. The Motor Vehicles (Weighing) Rules 1990 [P.U. (A) 466/1990], which are referred to as the “principal Rules” in these Rules, are amended in rule 2, by substituting for the definition of “computerized or electronic weigh in-motion system” the following definition: ‘“computerized or electronic weigh in-motion system” means a computerized or electronic weighing or measuring instrument which is used to weigh, identify and record a laden weight of a motor vehicle while the motor vehicle is moving on the road;’. Amendment of rule 9 3. The principal Rules are amended in rule 9—

(a) by substituting for subrule (1) the following subrule: “(1) The weighbridge, static axle weighing machine, weigh in-motion axle weighing machine, static wheel weighing machine or computerized or electronic weigh in-motion system shall have undergone accuracy tests and verification by an Inspector of Weights P.U. (A) 83 6 and Measures, who shall issue, in respect of the weighbridge, machine or system found to be accurate, a certificate of accuracy.”; and

(b) by substituting for subrule (6) the following subrule: “(6) The accuracy tests and verification of a computerized or electronic weigh in-motion system shall be carried out in accordance with the procedure prescribed in the Tenth Schedule.”. Substitution of Tenth Schedule 4. The principal Rules are amended by substituting for the Tenth Schedule the following schedule: “TENTH SCHEDULE [Subrule 9(6)] ACCURACY TEST AND VERIFICATION OF COMPUTERIZED OR ELECTRONIC WEIGH IN-MOTION SYSTEM A computerized or electronic weigh in-motion system shall be tested in accordance with the following procedure:

1. A computerized or electronic weigh in-motion system shall be tested in such manner as may be determined by the Custodian of Weights and Measures.
